  • Year 6 Residential

    Wed 21 May 2025

We are delighted to share that our Year 6 children recently had the fantastic opportunity to go on a residential trip to Torquay following their hard work during SATs tests.

They enjoyed a variety of exciting activities such as raft building, zip wire, aeroball, abseiling, sensory trails, and much more. Our children have acquired new skills, showcasing excellent behaviour and making the school proud throughout the trip.

    Well done Year 6!

  • 80th Anniversary of VE Day

    Thu 08 May 2025

On Thursday 8th May we all celebrated the 80th Anniversary of VE Day.

We celebrated with a special assembly, observing the national two minutes silence, making of bunting and playing music from the time during an extra playtime at 15:00 to mark the time the end of war was formally announced by Winston Churchill.

  • LKS2 WSR Trip

    Wed 07 May 2025

A huge well done to Hazel, Poplar and Rowan classes for their exceptional behaviour on their trip to Watchet on Wednesday 7th May.

The children walked all the way to Bishops Lydeard, then enjoyed a lovely train ride to Watchet on the West Somerset Railway 🚂.

The trip was linked to their history unit on Isambard Kingdom Brunel, who was involved in the construction of the railway – it was great to see part of his legacy in real life!

At the harbour, the children did some brilliant observational drawings before heading to the park for lunch, a play, and a well-deserved ice lolly before starting the journey back☀️.

Once they arrived back at Bishops Lydeard, they had a chance to look around the museum and were given a sneak peek at the learning and nature garden they are developing!

All of the children were brilliant and represented our school beautifully – well done, everyone!
