  • πŸ΅πŸπŸ¦’ Year 5 Trip to Paignton Zoo πŸ¦’πŸ 🐡

    Tue 24 Mar 2026

Our Year 5 pupils recently enjoyed an exciting visit to Paignton Zoo to support their Science topic, Living Things and their Habitats. During the trip, the children took part in a mini-session led by the zoo’s education team, where they learned all about classification and discovered lots of fascinating new facts.

The children were very well behaved throughout the day and thoroughly enjoyed exploring the zoo, observing and learning about a wide range of animals.

One of the highlights of the visit was the opportunity for staff to get hands-on - Mr Stead, Miss Hill, Miss Smith, Mrs Trathen and Mrs Pike all had the chance to hold a python skin… we were amazed at just how big it was! 🐍

A fantastic day of learning was had by all.

  • πŸ”¬ πŸ§ͺ Science Week πŸ§ͺ πŸ”¬

    Fri 13 Mar 2026

This week we have been celebrating Science Week across the school. The week began with an exciting and interactive assembly led by Mrs Lofthouse, which included air-powered rockets and the launch of a whole school challenge to see who could design a paper aeroplane that would achieve the longest flight. The competition has been very popular, with a fantastic variety of designs on display throughout the school.

Children have been exploring a range of themes during the week including scientific thinking, design and engineering, using data and maths, teamwork and improving designs. Staff have also joined in the fun, with some impressive aeroplane designs appearing - Mr Stead’s was particularly impressive!

Thank you to everyone who entered the poster competition and congratulations to our winners.

  • Children’s Mental Health Week - β€˜This Is My Place’

    Fri 13 Feb 2026

During the week commencing 9th February, we celebrated Children’s Mental Health Week, with this year’s theme, This Is My Place, focusing on promoting a sense of belonging.

Our fantastic School Council organised a range of activities throughout the week to support positive mental health, including crafts, card games and a quiet space for colouring and reading.

We finished the week with a non-uniform day, where children wore bright colours or clothing representing clubs and organisations they belong to, such as Brownies, Cubs, Scouts and sports clubs. It was wonderful to celebrate the many communities our children are part of.

  • Crazy Hair Day Success! πŸŽ‰

    Tue 10 Feb 2026

We had a fantastic Crazy Hair Day at school, raising money for our School Council. It was wonderful to see so many colourful and creative hairstyles across the school - the effort really was amazing!

A huge thank you to all of the children (and parents!) who got involved and helped make the day such a success. You've helped raised £134 which will go towards the school council's target to raise money for the Angel Star Fish project and our in school project. The creativity on display brought lots of smiles and made it very tricky for our judges.

Congratulations to our Key Stage winners for the best hairstyles:

    KS1: Rory

    LKS2: Georgie

    UKS2: Daniel

Well done to everyone who took part and helped support our School Council!

  • A Special Visit from the Police πŸš“

    Thu 05 Feb 2026

Year 1 had a very exciting and unexpected visit today from PC Milsom! The children loved learning all about his job as a police officer and had lots of thoughtful questions for him, which he was very happy to answer.

The visit was extra special for Miss Knight, who taught PC Milsom herself when he was in Reception – a lovely full-circle moment. Miss Knight was delighted to see that PC Milsom had achieved his dream of being a police man!

The children were thrilled to head outside to see the police car, where they learned more about how it works. Some even had the chance to press the warning signal and see the blue lights in action, which was a real highlight of the day.

It was a fantastic experience for Year 1 and a brilliant opportunity to learn about people in our community who help keep us safe. A big thank you to PC Milsom for taking the time to visit us!

  • Years 3 and 4 Egyptian Day

    Tue 03 Feb 2026

On 3rd February, our Year 3 and Year 4 children had a fantastic Egyptian Day with historian Neil Heasman. The day was packed with exciting, hands-on experiences that really brought their learning to life.

The children had the opportunity to handle replica artefacts, practise writing in hieroglyphics and even take part in a role-play mummification activity. It was wonderful to see such enthusiasm and curiosity throughout the day.

We finished with a special assembly to share what the children had learned. It was lovely to welcome so many families to celebrate their work and achievements.

A memorable and enriching day for everyone involved!

    Thu 18 Dec 2025

Our children thoroughly enjoyed a festive trip to the pantomime to watch 'Jack and the Beanstalk', which was a well-deserved treat for all their hard work in the run-up to Christmas.

The children were impeccably behaved and represented the school brilliantly throughout the visit. There was lots of laughter, excitement and festive cheer, and a great time was had by all!

A big thank you to the staff and volunteers who helped make the trip such a memorable experience for our pupils.

  • πŸŽ„πŸŽ‡ Year 6 Christmas Fair - Financial Literacy in Action πŸŽ‡ πŸŽ„

    Mon 15 Dec 2025

As part of their Financial Literacy learning, our Year 6 pupils have been busy planning and running a Christmas Fair for the rest of the school.

Working in groups, the children were given a budget of £10 and were required to pitch their business ideas to Mr Wright in order to secure their £10 investment. Their challenge was to manage their money carefully and aim to make as much profit as possible - they managed to raise a combined total of £362.00!

The fair was a fantastic success! There were delicious homemade cupcakes and biscuits, a range of fun games with exciting prizes, a ‘guess the number of sweets in the jar’ competition, Christmas decoration making and many other festive activities for children to enjoy.

We are incredibly proud of all the children for their creativity, teamwork and hard work throughout the project. A big thank you to all the relatives who popped in to support the event, and for the help given to the children in preparing and setting up for the day.
