Additional Activities

Keeping Children Active

We are pleased to offer children the opportunity to take part in a range of additional physical activities, including Fundamentals (gymnastics), Balanceability (learning to ride a bike) and Multi-Sports. These sessions are delivered either by our own staff or in partnership with Premier Education.

These activities are offered as optional, chargeable extras and are not a compulsory part of our nursery provision. Sessions are booked on a half-termly basis, and there is a cost per session for families who choose to take up the offer.

Nursery Trips

Each year, we organise a trip outside of the nursery to enrich children’s learning and give them the opportunity to explore the wider world. In the past, our visits have included places such as The Brewhouse Theatre, Dunster Castle, the Zoo and Ferne Animal Sanctuary.

These outings are carefully planned and fully supervised, and they provide valuable first-hand experiences that support children’s learning across the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). Trips help develop children’s communication and language skills, encourage curiosity and exploration and support personal, social and emotional development. Most importantly, they are enjoyable experiences that create positive, lasting memories for the children.

Visits from People Who Help Us

We regularly invite members of the local community into nursery to support children’s understanding of the world around them. This includes visits from our local Police Community Support Officer (PCSO).

These visits are delivered in a friendly, age-appropriate way and help children learn about people whose job it is to help others and keep them safe. Children are given the opportunity to ask questions and share ideas when talking to unfamiliar adults in a safe and supportive environment.
