Forest School at Fledglings

We are very fortunate to have a weekly slot in our on-site Forest school area. It is at the back of the school and is a small mixed woodland of oak, hazel and beech trees.

We have a shelter, fire pit area and a pond. The ground is sloped making it great to extend and challenge children physically and in their play and learning.

Here our some the activities that we offer:

Pond dipping

Sawing

Flower and leaf pressing 

Clay models

Bug hotels 

Natural painting 

Hot chocolate with a kelly kettle

Collecting sticks to make a fire 

Swinging in the hammock 

Tree and leaf spotting 

Bug hunts

Lots of open ended play with natural resources -planks, cable reels, tarpaulin and ropes.
