Monster Phonics

At Fledglings, we follow and use the Monster Phonics scheme to support children’s early phonics development. Monster Phonics is a fun, multi-sensory approach that helps children to recognise sounds and begin developing early reading skills through colour-coding, actions and engaging activities.

As this scheme is also used by the teachers and children throughout the main school, introducing Monster Phonics in Fledglings provides valuable continuity and supports a smooth transition into Reception. By embedding this approach into our daily practice, we help children build confidence and familiarity with phonics from an early age, giving them a strong foundation for future learning.
